There's usually at least one. The thing that survives every cleanup.

You pick it up, move it somewhere else, and keep going. Or more often, you just ignore it.

It's not something you need right now. But you don't get rid of it.

It just… waits.

I've noticed this recently — how some things never quite get resolved.

They exist in some kind of middle space. Not valuable enough to use but not unnecessary enough to remove.

I have these in my life.

Things that continue simply because they haven't made any noise.

Years ago I purchased the domain terryheath.com. I did some things with it here and there. And paid to renew it year after year.

I didn't want to let it go, and it wasn't making any noise.

In The Holiday, a retired Hollywood writer tells Kate Winslet's character she's a leading lady who's been acting like the best friend.

Seems like it's time to dust off terryheath.com. You're supposed to be the leading character of your own life, for God's sake!

So here I am.

With the little things in our lives: the stories, the people, the things. Thoughts about dealing with them intentionally.

I've often said everyone has a right to my opinion.
